The Australian Government is giving grants of $25k for renovating or building homes, a boost to the residential construction sector.
In an effort to encourage construction and employment, a federal scheme will give eligible Australians $25k to build or renovate their homes. This is anotable step to boost the real estate sector in Australia during the economic downturn associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The federal scheme debugged as ‘HomeBuilder Program’ could act as a remedy to hundreds of thousands of people associated with the residential construction sector.
The $688 million ‘HomeBuilder Program’ will apply to contracts entered between June 4 and December 31 and is aimed at supporting 140,000 direct jobs and another one million related jobs in the residential construction sector. Also, the grant will be given to existing property owners and first home buyers seeking to build or improve their homes. The scheme is supposed to improve the liveability, security and accessibility of the homes where external works such as swimming pools, tennis courts, etc. are not going to be covered by the scheme.
